The Holiday season is just around the corner, and as such, there is lots to get done; sending out advertising, email promotions and mailing out postcards. The time spent on marketing offline should be the same online. Here are a few tips that you might find useful.

If your website supports RSS feeds, why not utilitize this feature as part of your marketing? Write up a little a blurb on your company this holiday; the type of promotions you are offering, or any innovative plans for the new year. Your return visitors can stay informed by subscribing to your website. New visitors can also learn more about your company. In addition, your website will have fresh content to share with the public.

Use your offline advertising to direct traffic to your website. A few words and a link to your website can go a long way! Try keeping your descriptions short and sweet and adding a website link. Then, explain the details of the promotion on your website. Use photos and anything that will help with the sale. Your website is the most inexpensive way you can market your business.

If it doesn’t work, revise it! Marketing is full of trial and error. As I mentioned earlier, your marketing cost with the website is far less than with printed materials. You can revise your promotional webpage as needed to suit your target market as often as you wish. On a website, content is key and free. Let your visitors know what you have and what you offer. They will contact you if they’re interested in a few clicks!

Remember to be informed and communicate with your clients! “Products are bought, not sold!” There are two things the internet is great for: offering free stuff and providing information. As a small business, we can’t afford to keep giving out free stuff, so why not choose the latter. Trust me! You’ll thank me later!
